Association Analysis

Understand what
you’re known for.

Explore the associations connected to your company and its rivals on a Market Map board. Compare what AI recalls with what it finds on the public web.

For PR, communications & marketing teams

What you bring. What you get.

Association Analysis is a capability within Trendscoded’s Market Positioning Intelligence. It helps PR and marketing teams examine specific dimensions of position inside an established market.

  1. 01

    Start on a board

Select the market and company you want to understand. Its competitive boundary gives the associations their context.

  2. 02

    Compare associations

Examine the board’s performance, reputation, and buyer-selection dimensions. See how the company and its rivals are associated with the work and the choice.

  3. 03

    Inspect the basis

Read the model’s assessment. Compare Web and Recall where both have been measured, and open available Web sources to assess the support.

Get specific about position.

A broad category ranking leaves questions open. Association analysis lets you examine the dimensions on the board: the work a provider is associated with doing, how it is regarded, and the criteria that distinguish it as a buyer’s choice.

Separate public evidence from model recall.

Web uses searched public evidence. Recall uses the model’s existing knowledge without web search. Stronger Web standing with weaker Recall can reveal a difference between what the model finds and what it names unaided. An unmeasured association remains unmeasured.

Ground the next positioning discussion.

Use the actual associations and their evidence when reviewing a message or planning what to investigate next. A gap can help focus that discussion, but it does not establish why a rival leads or prove that publishing an article will change the result.

Before you start.

Do I start with a Market Map?

Yes. Association Analysis uses a board within your Market Map. The existing market boundary keeps the companies and associations in a relevant comparison.

Can I carry an association score into another board?

The same label may have different evidence and standing in another market, geography, or vertical. Read the result within the scope where it was measured.

How can a PR team use the results?

Bring the board’s associations and available evidence into a client briefing. Identify the dimensions where the client is strong, where rivals are ahead, and which public claims need more investigation before shaping a message.

Does comparing Web and Recall track daily change?

No. Those are two evidence modes. Tracking change requires measurements from different times with a comparable scope. A completed comparison does not by itself establish daily monitoring.
