A different rank does not explain why the answer changed. Compare the same market context and review the evidence before treating movement as a meaningful shift.
Check what was compared
A change of geography, buyer need, rival set, or AI model can produce a different result. Compare like with like before interpreting movement.
Read the evidence behind the result
Look at what the answer says and which available sources support it. A rank alone cannot tell you whether a launch, coverage, or customer experience explains the difference.
Avoid turning coincidence into causation
A team may publish a page and then see a different result. That sequence does not prove the page caused the change. Other sources, rivals, model changes, and variation between answers may also matter.
Choose a proportionate follow-up
Use the Market Map to identify the relevant comparison. Record what changed, what is supported, and what remains uncertain. Request a fresh measurement when it is useful to the client decision, rather than treating every fluctuation as an instruction to publish more content.
