Being named and being recommended are different observations. Before comparing a metric, check what it counts and which questions, markets, models, and dates it covers.
A mention establishes an appearance
Mention share usually describes how often a brand appears within a defined set of answers. It does not necessarily show that the model recommended the brand or described it favorably.
A recommendation needs a clear definition
Different measurement products may use answer share to mean different things. Check what qualifies as a recommendation and what total is being used for the comparison. Two percentages are not comparable simply because their labels look alike.
Standing needs a relevant market
A company can appear often in broad category answers and still be absent from the buyer question that matters. The Market Map identifies relevant competitive contexts before standing is measured against the rivals in each.
Keep comparisons consistent
Use comparable markets, questions, models, and dates. Do not treat a single appearance as a stable buyer preference. When using Trendscoded, keep the selected market and recorded read in view; request a fresh measurement when you need one.
Separate visibility from business results
A mention or recommendation is evidence about an AI answer. It is not proof of a customer decision or a direct measure of revenue. Pair it with other research when making a commercial claim.
