Start with the Market Map. The map names the market, the place or vertical, the rivals, and the claim you can support. ChatGPT Ads are labeled paid placements in that market. They are not a way to write ChatGPT’s answer.
OpenAI keeps ads distinct from its responses. They give advertisers a way to present an offer while people explore options, compare alternatives, or work toward a decision. See OpenAI’s advertiser introduction.
Trendscoded’s ads workflow is still planned. The map is what you use now. The examples below are the same boards shown on the Trendscoded homepage: saved Market Map excerpts, ChatGPT Sol snapshots from 5 September 2026. They are a planning exercise. They do not mean these companies ran ChatGPT Ads.
Advertise the market the board names
On Bitpanda’s cryptocurrency brokerage board for Europe, Kraken is first in that snapshot and Bitpanda is third. A usable ads brief names that market and that place. It does not claim a worldwide brokerage lead. On the Middle East brokerage board, Bitpanda is not ranked.
On the Efferon map, one measured market is extracorporeal endotoxin removal, a healthcare vertical. Toray Industries is first in that snapshot; Efferon LPS is third. A usable ads brief names that device market. It does not advertise “medical devices for every hospital.” That is a wider category than the board.
What does an advertiser create?
OpenAI’s advertiser site describes a campaign workflow in Ads Manager: set up the campaign and its budget and goal, add the ad details, then launch and review results. The offer, message, and destination need to work together. Explore Ads Manager.
A helpful brief takes those choices from the board: the product or service, the geography or vertical, the evidence behind the main claim, and the action a visitor can take. Writing “reach everyone interested in our category” gives the team less direction than naming the market the map already defined.
Why does conversation context matter?
A person researching a purchase may explain their goal and constraints across a conversation. OpenAI describes using conversational context to help select relevant advertising, with personalization depending on the user’s settings and country. Advertisers do not receive access to private conversations. Read OpenAI’s explanation of the experience.
That makes message clarity a useful planning discipline. Describe the situation the board already named — a European brokerage need, or a hospital team evaluating endotoxin removal. Avoid assuming that a broad audience label tells you exactly what a person needs or that a phrase guarantees a placement.
Is an ad the same as a ChatGPT recommendation?
No. OpenAI states that advertising does not influence its answers. A paid appearance and a recommendation inside the response are different observations. Buying campaign exposure does not buy organic standing on the Market Map. See OpenAI’s advertising principles in its rollout update.
A client report should label them separately. The Ads vs Organic Recommendations article explains what to measure and what an appearance does or does not establish.
Who can access Ads Manager?
Availability depends on the country of the legal entity that will advertise and be billed. Creating an account is separate from gaining self-service access. Check OpenAI’s current availability list before planning a launch; the list can change as access expands. Check Ads Manager availability.
What should a team prepare first?
- The market, place, or vertical the Market Map already named.
- A specific offer and the buyer need it serves.
- Accurate creative and evidence for the claims.
- A destination that continues the same market.
- A budget and a clearly defined response to measure.
Use ChatGPT Ads Best Practices to review the message, then ChatGPT Ads Landing Page Structure to prepare the destination. For agency use of the map itself, read Market Maps for PR Agencies.
Where does Trendscoded fit today?
These Labs articles provide educational guidance. Trendscoded’s planned ChatGPT Ads capability is still described as coming soon. The current Market Map offer helps teams understand markets, rivals, and standing; it is not an OpenAI advertising purchase. OpenAI campaign spend is separate from Trendscoded credits.
